BUGS! But what about the mantis?
Bugs!
    They're in the walls
    They're underground
    They're in the halls
    They're coming down
Bugs!
    They come in numbers
    They're in disguise
    They're in your cupboards
    They're in your eyes

But what about the butterfly?
So colorful to flutter by
With ears on it wings and
Taste buds on its feet
From caterpillar to cocoon
Now it floats around all afternoon
Right into a spider's web
To be dinner in the sticky threads

Bugs!
    They're in the walls
    They're underground
    They're in the halls
    They're coming down
Bugs!
    They come in numbers
    They're in disguise
    They're in your cupboards
    They're in your eyes

But what about the mantis?
With its two praying hands, it's
The one insect in the kingdom
Who can swivel its head around
Camoflaged in a tree
It remains a mystery
Then its legs start to bounce and sway
Now it's time to pounce on its prey

Bugs!
    They're in the walls
    They're underground
    They're in the halls
    They're coming down
Bugs!
    They come in numbers
    They're in disguise
    They're in your cupboards
    They're in your eyes

But what about the honeybee?
Using insect geometry
Storing nectar in hexagons
To use the least wax
But with no bees to pollinate
Our plants soon would die away
And people would have nothing left to eat

Bugs are just as different
As different kinds of people
Sometimes we don't even notice
The ones that are our friends
So next time before you squash 'em
Think twice and reconsider
'Cause some day they may inherit the Earth
Yes, one day they may inherit the Earth
